IEEE Madhya Pradesh Section Student Activities Committee eNewsletter - June 2026 Volume 1, Issue 1 General Information The Student Activities Committee (SAC) of the IEEE Madhya Pradesh Section aims to provide enriching experiences for students by supporting Student Branches. Its mission is to promote technical learning, professional development, leadership, innovation, and volunteerism through events, workshops, competitions, conferences, and humanitarian initiatives. The SAC strives to strengthen collaboration, encourage knowledge sharing, recognize achievements, and create opportunities for personal and professional growth. The committee's vision is to cultivate a dynamic and inclusive student community that empowers future engineers, researchers, innovators, and leaders through technical excellence, leadership, collaboration, and service. It envisions every student member discovering opportunities to learn, lead, and contribute meaningfully to society while advancing technology for humanity. From the Madhya Pradesh Section Chair’s Desk (Prof. G. S. Tomar) Prof. G. S. Tomar, Chairperson of the IEEE Madhya Pradesh Section, welcomed readers to the inaugural SAC Newsletter. He emphasized that the strength of the section comes from its people and highlighted that opportunities are directly proportional to effort invested. He noted that growth comes from consistent participation, genuine collaboration, and courage. The SAC provides a platform for Student Branches to innovate, lead, and create impact, building technical skills, teamwork, and professional character. The newsletter serves to celebrate student efforts, recognize volunteers, and ensure members are aware of opportunities. He encouraged active participation, ownership of initiatives, and collaboration across institutions. From the MP Section SAC Chair’s Desk (Dr. Ashish Singhal) Dr. Ashish Singhal, Chair of the Student Activities Committee, also welcomed readers to the inaugural newsletter. He stated that the newsletter is designed to celebrate achievements, share inspiring stories, highlight opportunities, and strengthen community connections. He emphasized that learning extends beyond academics through volunteering, collaboration, and leadership. The SAC is committed to supporting Student Branches with meaningful opportunities in technical learning, leadership, networking, humanitarian service, and professional excellence. Madhya Pradesh Section Student Chapter Activities (June 2026) * World Environment Day Special Session * Date: June 5, 2026 * Organizer: IEEE RGPV Student Branch (STB11426) * Highlights: Expert session led by Dr. Ritu KR on "Sustainability, Resilient & Impactful AI Solutions for the Environment," covering AI's role in renewable energy, smart power systems, and sustainable development. Included an environmental quiz, discussions, and Q&A. * World Environment Day 2026: A Journey Towards Sustainability & Humanity * Date: June 5, 2026 * Organizer: IEEE SIGHT Student Branch Group (SBA04301S) in collaboration with IEEE MP Section SIGHT Chapter and IEEE Region 10 HTA. * Highlights: Campaign at Acropolis Institute of Technology and Research, Indore, encouraging sustainable practices through tree plantation, water conservation, waste recycling, kitchen gardening, and community cleanliness. * Summer Camp on Robotics, AI & STEM Education * Date: April 23 - May 5, 2026 (10-day camp) * Venue: Adarsh Vidyalaya, Mowa, Raipur, Chhattisgarh * Organizer: IEEE Kalinga University Student Branch (STB60204569) in collaboration with Bharat Drone Systems (BDS) Education. * Highlights: Introduced school students to robotics, artificial intelligence, coding, and computational thinking using platforms like Codey Rocky and mBot. Included hands-on activities, interactive projects, and a valedictory ceremony. Upcoming Activities * Git & GitHub Mastery Hands-on Workshop * When: July 2026 * Details: Covers Git fundamentals, branching, merging, pull requests, and real-world GitHub collaboration workflows. Open to all branches; participants should bring laptops. * InnovateX Hackathon Flagship Competition * When: August 2026 * Details: A 24-hour hackathon focused on AI/ML, Web Development, App Development, and Sustainability. A team event with prizes and certificates. * RoboArena Challenge Workshop + Contest * When: September 2026 * Details: Robotics & IoT competition where participants design, program, and compete using robots and IoT projects. Hardware will be provided. Open to all. Upcoming Specific Events and Conferences * Kalinga Conference on Communication and Computing (KalingaConf 2026) * Start: July 24, 2026 * End: July 26, 2026 * Venue: Kalinga University, Naya Raipur, Chhattisgarh * Details: An international platform organized by Kalinga University, Raipur, and technically sponsored by the IEEE Madhya Pradesh Section. It brings together researchers, academicians, industry professionals, and students to discuss advancements in communication, computing, and emerging technologies, with a focus on Intelligent Systems. Includes keynote sessions, expert talks, and paper presentations on areas like AI, ML, Data Science, IoT, Blockchain, and Cybersecurity. * IKIGAI 2026 (Intelligent Knowledge Integration for Global AI Innovation) * Date: August 21-23, 2026 * Venue: Acropolis Institute of Technology & Research, Indore * Organizers: Department of CSIT & CSE (CY), Acropolis Institute of Technology & Research, in collaboration with the IEEE TEMS Student Branch Chapter (SBC043011E) and IEEE Student Branch, Acropolis. * Details: A 36-hour national AI hackathon designed for innovators, developers, designers, and AI enthusiasts to solve real-world challenges using Artificial Intelligence. Features a ₹1,03,000 prize pool, expert mentorship, and networking opportunities. Student Achievement * Jisha Salariya (Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences, Indore) * Selected to present a research paper at the All India Hindi Technical Conference, organized by URSC, ISRO Bengaluru, on February 5-6, 2026. The paper was also published on the official URSC website. * Recipient of the Best Paper Award at the 14th International Research Conference, organized by Aditya Institute of Management, Mumbai, in March 2026. * Selected as a Research Intern at IIT Indore, recognized for outstanding research potential and academic excellence.
